Bolo,pe numele sau real Yang Sze,nascut in Guangzhou,China.Acesta a inceput cariera de Arte Martiale de la o varsta frageda,in orasul natal unde a luat lecti de kung fu si de acrobatie.
In cele din urma a devenit campion national powerlifting din continentala China.
Bolo l-a intalnit pe Bruce Lee, in timp ce acesta filma un spot publicitar la celebra marca de tigarete Winston.O prietenie intre Bolo si Bruce Lee a inceput atunci cand Lee l-a invitat sa joace alaturi de el in "Enter of Dragon" si in acest film a fost cunoscut ca "Bolo". In perioada 1970, Bolo a inceput sa joace in numeroase filme de arte martiale,dar adevarata intrare in lumea Hollywood-ului a avut-o alaturi de Jean Claude van Damme in "Bloodsport" unde a jucat un rol memorabil.
In prezent este tata a trei copii si este presedinte al Hong Kong Gym.
