Uma Thurman este o actrita inalta si mladioasa, avand 1.83 m; s-a nascut la data de 29 aprilie 1970 in Boston, Massachusetts, SUA. La o varsta frageda, la 15 ani, a parasit bancile scolii pentru a deveni o stea de cinema, ceea ce a visat inca de mica.Ea este cea mai bine cunoscuta pentru aparitia in filmele lui Quentin Tarantino, in celebrul film Kill Bill Vol.1. Mutandu-se la New York, avea sa-si castige existanta din spalat vase si modelling. Uma Thurman este în prezent rezidenta în Hyde Park, New York. La 1 mai 1998, s-a casatorit cu actorul Ethan Hawke, după cele două întâlniri la filmarile filmului Gattaca. Ea, ulterior, s-a dedicat romanului To Karuna. Thurman a recunoscut ea insasi că s-au casatorit devreme deoarece ea a ramas gravidă iar la nunta lor, ea a fost in luna a saptea a sarcinii.Cuplul are doi copii, o fata Maya Ray Thurman-Hawke nascuta la data de 8 iulie 1998 şi un baiat Levon Roan Thurman-Hawke nascut la data de 15 ianuarie 2002. În 2003, Thurman si Hawke vor sa divorteze iar in 2004 depune actele pentru divorţ. Multe stiri din revistele mondene au declarat ca o cauza a divortului este faptul ca Hawke ca ar fi inselat-o pe Thurman cu un model canadian Jen Perzow. Hawke ar fi negat faptul că o cauza a divortului ar fi fost infidelitatea, spunand ca adevaratul motiv ar fi fost cauzat de programul ei incarcat si lipsa sa indelungata din sanul familiei.
